Smart living design

• Learning how music was at the centre of the householder’s universe inspired this designer to integrate control of all lighting, curtains and air-conditioning with high-end audio equipment. This enabled the client to orientate ambience to music by selecting scenes from program settings on a tablet.

Interior design

• An earth-tone color scheme and layered materials create a northern Californian ambience in this Homantin dwelling.
• The entire apartment features marble pattern flooring to represent a natural mountain trail, while a glass railing is used to create space between living room and entertainment area, with birds soaring upwards and over mountains. An enlarged balcony and elevated entertainment area act as a reminder of northern California’s mountain range.
• Building on this distinctive ambience, the designer decorated the fireplace with wooden beams and logs to complement a beehive-shape feature wall formed by hexagonal tiles.
