Professional
Any interior designer aged 18 or above and based in Hong Kong is eligible to enter the Professional category in his/her name.
Requirements
- Entrants must submit photographs of a bona fide residential interior design project completed in Hong Kong or overseas between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2018.
- Entrants are required to submit the following materials:
- Two passages to describe and explain how interior design and smart living concepts were applied to the design. Submissions will be accepted in Chinese (400-word limit) or English (600-word limit).
- A maximum of 15 photographs in JPG or PNG format, plus captions. Size of each photo is limited to 4MB. The lower pixel limit is 2,000 (W) x 2,000 (H), while the upper limit is 4,000 (W) x 4,000 (H).
- Entrants can also submit a video not exceeding 2 minutes in length. Please upload your video to YouTube and include the link on the Online Application Form.
- Each interior design company can submit up to three design projects by three different designers. Each designer can submit one design project only.
- Designs that won in previous HKT Smart Living Awards will not be accepted.
- Entrants are required to submit their design projects on or before May 10, 2019. Late submissions will not be accepted.
Student
Any student enrolled in a full-time or part-time program registered in Hong Kong, including graduates from 2017 and 2018, is eligible to enter the Student category in his/her name, or as part of a team comprising a maximum of four eligible members.
Requirements
- Entrants must submit an original design based on the "Live Smart. Live Well." theme.
- Entrants must incorporate interior design and smart living concepts, and design a dwelling unit for a household, such that each family member enjoys a healthier lifestyle. Requirements are as follows:
- Footprint: 6m x 6m x 2.5m H
- The space must include dining, living, kitchen, washroom and sufficient sleeping space
- No constraint on budget, furniture or materials
- Please identify family members in terms of gender, age range, occupation and so on (no limitation on household size)
- Entrants are required to submit a Design Proposal of 6 – 10 pages comprising illustrations, text and pictures. The Design Proposal should be in PDF format (20MB limit) to include:
- Design summary (1 page)
- 2D graphics of floor plan/section (At least 2 pages)
- 3D graphics of isometric view/perspective (At least 2 pages)
- A passage to describe and explain how interior design and smart living concepts have been applied and how the design meets the household's needs. Submissions will be accepted in Chinese (300-word limit) or English (500-word limit). (1 page)
- Any content that enhances the visual effect (0 - 4 pages)

- Entrants must submit a copy of student ID card, graduation certificate or other proof to verify identity.
- Entrants aged below 18 are required to submit a consent letter signed by parents or guardian. Please download the Parent Consent Letter.

- Each participating unit can submit only one design project, and each participant can enter once only.
- After submitting an application form online, entrants can submit their design materials by email (SLAwards@smartliving.hkt.com), but are required to do so on or before May 10, 2019. Late applications or submissions will not be accepted.
- Finalists will be required to make an "Elevator Pitch" (Design Presentation) in June 2019. The judging panel will rate each entry according to design, speech and presentation content.
